Starting as a player herself, Coach DiClementi enjoyed a successful high school career at St. Joseph’s High School in Trumbull, Connecticut. She had led her team to a state title which, in turn, earned her an All-Conference Honors award. She went on to play her freshman year at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before deciding she would rather be closer to home. Later, after redshirting and playing competitive club volleyball at the University of Bridgeport, Maureen graduated with a BA in English and History.

Coach Maureen DiClementi started her career in coaching in 2007as a coach to her own daughter’s Loudoun Youth Volleyball (LYV) team. Not long after, she went on to coach numerous clubs in the Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association (CHRVA).

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Coach DiClementi’s coaching philosophy is quite simple: keep the gym  drama free, make the right mistakes a learning experience , run highly competitive practices and practice like you play! Her goal is to have every athlete well-prepared, organized, and ready to compete.

Coach DiClementi is IMPACT-certified,  Gold Medal Squared-trained, and an active member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She brings a unique perspective to the game, having two daughters that played competitive club volleyball and varsity-level high school volleyball.  The oldest of her two daughter's was a recruited division 1 setter/rs.  Her oldest son played division 1 basketball.

Nick DiClementi: Technical Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator

Nick will be entering his seventh season with Paramount. Along with being the Recruiting Coordinator and Technical Coordinator for Paramount VBC, Nick is heavily involved in all aspects of the club.

Nick began coaching volleyball in 2015 as a varsity assistant coach at perennial powerhouse Middleburg Academy. He was an assistant coach at Middleburg from 2015-2018. In the four years that he was an assistant coach at Middleburg, the program had a combined 150-21 record. During that span of time, Middleburg won three VISAA State Championships and advanced to four consecutive VISAA State Championships.

During the 2022-23 club season, Nick was the Head Coach of the Paramount U14 and U18 teams. Nick led his U18 team on a historic, record-breaking campaign. His U18 team double OPEN-qualified for USAV Nationals with a 2nd place overall finish in the 18 Open Division of the Ohio Valley Qualifier and a 3rd place overall finish in the 18 Open Division of the Mideast Qualifier (in a field that had 16 open-qualified teams). There were only a total of 18 teams in the entire country who double-qualified for USAV GJNC in the Open Division during the 2023 season! Nick and his team were not satisfied with just double-qualifying in Open, however. At the 2023 USAV 18s Girls Junior National Championship, the team made CHRVA Region history by finishing 5th place overall in the 18 OPEN Division. You heard it right: this team finished 5th overall in the nation in the USAV GJNC Open Division, which is BY FAR the best final finish in CHRVA Region history for a U18 CHRVA team (the previous best overall final finish in 18 Open for a CHRVA team was 17th place). All 15 players on Nick's U18 team committed to play collegiate volleyball, including twelve Division I commitments and three Division III commitments.

Nick's U14 team also had tremendous success during the 2022-23 season. They were objectively the best U14 team in the CHRVA Region, finishing 1st Place overall at CHRVA Bid Regionals (without dropping a set), earning a National Division Bid to USAV GJNC. They carried this success into USAV GJNC, finishing 13th place overall in the 14 National Division (our U14 team was the only CHRVA U14 team to have a top 14 finish at 2023 GJNC). Nick's U14 team also finished 7th place in the Open Division at Big South (which was the best final finish for a U14 team in the Open Division of a USAV qualifier in the 2023 season), 1st place at the Volley by the James, 1st place at the Chesapeake Showdown (in the U15/U16 division), and 9th place at MAPL Raleigh in the U14-U16 Blue Division (which was the best final finish of any U14 team in the Blue Division).

Here is a summary of Nick's accomplishments at Paramount (all as a Head Coach unless designated otherwise):

  • In the 2023 season, Nick's team double-qualified in 18 Open, and finished 5th place overall in 18 OPEN Division of USAV GJNC

She was a 14s assistant and club-wide floater coach last season, helping contribute to Paramount’s fascinating success with being the only CHRVA club to qualify at least one team for USAV GJNC (Nationals) in ages U12-U18. Coach Andersen preaches volleyball as a constant feedback loop, with every touch and interaction on the court serving as some form of a learning opportunity. Even when success is achieved, players should constantly think of ways to simply the game for themselves but be strategic in-between. Through discipline, problem-solving, heart, and maintaining competitiveness, you will truly outlast others at the end of the day.

Coach Andersen has been coaching youth players, ages 6-17, for several years, with this being her second-year coaching for a travel team.
